Today, 17th January 2022, we celebrated Martin Luther King (MLK) Day.
We celebrated the life and legacy of Martin Luther King, a tireless fighter for the civil rights of African Americans who was assassinated in 1968.
The date is commemorated on the third Monday of January, a date close to January 15, the date of his birth in 1929.
We learned about the March on Washington for jobs and freedom, Rosa Parks and the Montgomery Bus Boycott, Dr King’s infamous “I Have a Dream” speech and his unfortunate assassination on the 4th April 1968 at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee.
